ANALYSIS: great depth, with three players who are their organization's best prospects. Kazmir has been raved about, Stokes is now the heir apparent in Florida with D. Lee's departure and Marte was called the best 3B prospect in baseball. Questions remain on Gobble, and Rauch should be cut.
ANALYSIS: Morneau could be special (if he ever qualifies at 1B), but tailed late in the season, and Nix will get the first shot at the Rangers' CF job in 2004. Mathis is good but probably a year away, and Nageotte could close or set up in Seattle soon. Snelling can't stay healthy, and should be cut.
ANALYSIS: the upsides of Kotchman and Hairston are undeniable, and this group has good depth, even with Foppert's injury. Wainwright was the top pitching prospect in the Braves' organization, and will get a callup earlier now that he's been traded to St. Louis. Huber and Cisco have a ways to go, but still have potential.
ANALYSIS: the big upsides here are in Greene, who looks like he might be starting for the Pads in 2004, and Gavin Floyd, who is a stud but will be at Double A in 2004. Bullington has stalled somewhat in the Pittsburgh organization, Thurston didn't cut it in 2004 and Escobar is in a crowded outfield mix in Cleveland.
ANALYSIS: Makes the top five on one name only -- Miguel Cabrera, who might be the best 55-cent player in the league in 2004. Restovich didn't show much during his stint with the Twins, and Adrian Gonzalez never made it back from his wrist injury, although his stock improved when he was traded to Texas.
ANALYSIS: Burnett and Ramirez both have chances to help soon -- Ramirez is blocked by Nomar, but Burnett will likely spend the season in Triple A and pitch for the Pirates in 2005. Heilman is OK, and Bootcheck should probably be cut.
